The ×4 / ×2 rule: multiply your outs by 4 on the flop (two cards to come) or by 2 on the turn (one card to come) for a quick equity estimate in percent. It's accurate within a point or two for most draws.
From equity to decisions: pot odds
Equity alone doesn't make a call correct — compare it to the price. If the pot is $80 and you must call $20, you're paying 20 into a final pot of 100: you need 20% equity to break even. A flush draw on the flop (35%) calls easily; a gutshot (17%) does not — unless implied odds from future betting make up the gap.
How this calculator works
It deals every unknown card randomly 20,000 times (a Monte Carlo simulation), gives each opponent two random cards, completes the board, and scores every hand with a full 7-card evaluator. Accuracy is typically within ±0.5% of exact enumeration — more than enough for real decisions. Everything runs locally in your browser.
